With its stunning view, we really enjoyed our lunch in the late afternoon. I tried quite authentic, classic menu like saltimbocca, and found out it definitely makes difference. Simple dish at a glance, but it has very complex taste, at the same time well balanced. Realized I don't need to go too far creative and staying classic is also being creative. In addition, beautifully matured Cepparello 1999 was a big surprise. Want to visit again.

If you are within even 100kms of this restaurant you MUST go. Hands down best lunch ever but also the service was so good it was almost unbelievable. We left feeling like we had gained an amazing uncle with all the smiles, and advice, even free little tidbits that we “must try”. Then add to that the owner (the grandson of the incredible chef who started the restaurant more than 100 years ago). My husband received a companionable shoulder squeeze hello soon after entering. Smiles all around. THEN stopping by during our lunch to tell us a little history before handing us a free book made for their centennial in 2022. Just WOW Obviously it has a Michelin star so the food is going to be incredible. We had roast pork entree to share, my husband a Sea bass dish that wasn’t on the menu (another great assistance from our waiter) and I had the steak. My husband usually isn’t a big seafood fan so I was surprised he asked “do you have any fish dish you can make”. The fish came in a tomato base sauce that you could drink by the glass and ALSO came with a plate full of shell fish which my husband usually doesn’t like at all. Much to my surprise he ate every last piece. So understated, so flavoursome. My steak was cooked to perfection and the rock salt on the side just made it memorable. But THEN! We asked what the 8 Euro “dessert” option was on the menu. They had 4 options. First Tirimasu (husbands favoured) so he chose. Second was a Mille-Feuille that was so light it defied physics so that was my choice! Then my husband made the mistake of asking what the other 2 options were. Apple pie and Trifle, OH NO our second 2 favourites!!! We had NO choice but to order those to take away for after dinner tonight (although they may be dinner because I am SO full). Cacciiani - thank you for our amazing experience. You had set the standard for what excellence really means .

Boxing Day Lunch 26 Dec 2023. Excellent service, great Baby Lamb on the Grill and potatoes! (Egg pasta a little too salty but good). Definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Frascati.

My only regret about this restaurant is that we didn't discover it until our last night in Rome/Frascati. The food was excellent (I had the zucchini appetizer followed by the steak and roasted vegetables, and my wife had the fish of the day spaghetti al mare), and the service was above and beyond. This is clearly a neighborhood family restaurant. And, like much of Italy, they get busy at 9 PM. So, if you're an American used to eating around 6:30 or 7 PM, and you get there by 8:30, you'll have no trouble getting in. If you intend to eat after that, make sure you have a reservation. On second thought, that statement applies to most of southern Italy (maybe north, too - I don't have the experience to say).

Exceptional service, beautiful space with art deco features and a lovely terrace, and suggest that you take the waiter’s recommendation - the lamb he suggested to us was perfectly cooked and flavoured.
